Christmas came early for one Conn. single mom, thanks to the kindness of a stranger.
Since just before Thanksgiving, Danielle Dubois has been making payments in installments on a pricey Lego set she put on layaway as a gift for her 10-year-old son, local news affiliate WFSB reported Thursday.
When her local Wal-Mart store called last week, Dubois figured it was to remind her to pay the next installment. Instead, she was told that a "Christmas angel" had just bought the Lego set for her.
"I'm like come on," Dubois told. "[The woman on the phone] goes 'No, I'm serious.'"
Dubois said the act of kindness couldn't have come at a better time. After losing her mother a few months back, the single mom of three said she's struggled to get into the holiday spirit.
"It brought the special back a little bit. And we needed that," Dubois said. "So whoever it was, thank you."
