The holiday season is upon us and that means the spirit of giving is in the air, especially at the Applebee's in LaGrange.
Lola Snyder has an infectious personality, and Wednesday night her hard work and dedication to customer service paid off.
"There is an angel who usually comes in usually around the holidays," said Snyder.
Five minutes before Snyder's shift ended a woman walked into the restaurant. Snyder seated her and decided to stick around to be her server.
"She asked me what I liked and I recommend it to her and she was happy about it," said Snyder. "And I looked at her and she just looked up at me, and there was a connection and she just had the warmest look and she said, 'Thank you so much, you have a Merry Christmas.'"
The mystery woman's bill came to about $12. What happened next stunned Snyder and her coworkers.
"I had to do a double-take because she had written 'Merry Christmas, God bless you' and left me a $200 tip," said Snyder. "You don't see the random act of kindness every day and it's never happened to me," said Snyder.
Snyder doesn't know the woman and didn't get a chance to thank her before she left, but she knows what she'd say if she saw her again.
"I would throw my arms around her, and thank her and tell her that she she brought my Christmas spirit to me this year, so I'm very grateful," said Snyder. "Whoever she is, you know who are, thank you from me and my family."
As far as what she's going to do with the money, Snyder said she plans on buying as many presents as her 10-year-old son can handle.
