AUGUSTA, Georgia - Former Faulkner State All-American Bubba Watson had a good cry today. Back in Augusta to defend his Masters championship, Watson was asked during a press conference: "What's the most interesting think you did with or in your green jacket?"
The Masters champion is awarded a green jacket after his victory at Augusta National.
Watson answered he had told a Masters official after winning that he was going to take his green jacket home and wrap his son, Caleb, in it. Watson and his wife adopted Caleb just 13 days before Watson's Masters victory, highlighted by a miraculous shot that set up a victory-clinching par on the second hole of a sudden-death playoff against Louis Oosthuizen.
That answer set off the tears for the Bagdad, Fla., native, who fought hard to compose himself and, when given the chance to skip to the next question, wanted to complete his answer.
He finally said: "Out of respect, out of honor for Augusta National and one of the greatest clubs we have, one of the greatest tournaments - out of respect for them, I didn't do any of the funny antics I would normally do. The only thing I did was wrap Caleb up in it."
