Massachusetts native Tom Bergeron announces that Boston Marathon victim and dance instructor Adrianne Haslet-Davis is going to be on Dancing with the Stars...

The most significant moment of “Dancing with the Star” results show last night was not the identity of the celeb eliminated.
It came midway through the hour when host — and Haverhill native — Tom Bergeron promised to introduce viewers to an extraordinary woman next week: professional ballroom instructor Adrianne Haslet-Davis, who lost her left foot in the aftermath of the Boston Marathon bombings.
“We were all very moved by her inspirational outlook. We’ll tell you how we hope to be part of her recovery,” Bergeron said.

Haslet-Davis told Herald columnist Peter Gelzinis in a Monday front-page story that went viral that she would dance again and, yes, even run the marathon.
“Dancing is my life. Yeah, having my foot blown off, that really sucks. But I can’t wallow in woe is me,” she told Gelzinis.
Earlier yesterday, “DWTS” pros invited Haslet-Davis on the show next week as a tribute to her “inspirational outlook.” And Derek Hough, who earlier this month hit the floor for an emotional turn with a legally blind ballerina, said he’d love to dance with Adrianne on the show whenever she’s ready.
“It’s hard for anyone to really quite understand what she must be going through and what she’s going to go through with rehab and getting her balance back,” Hough told our Track correspondent. “But if she has the determination and she has the passion — and it sounds like she does — she’s going to run that marathon and she’s going to be dancing again. It’s not going to slow her down.”
Haslet-Davis, a 32-year-old dance instructor at the Arthur Murray Studio in Park Plaza, suffered the devastating injury while watching the marathon in front of the Forum restaurant with her husband, Air Force Capt. Adam Davis.
Aly Raisman, the Needham Olympic gold medalist, and her “DWTS” partner Mark Ballas trained for the show at the same dance studio where Adrianne worked.
“I can’t even put it into words, especially with her being a dance teacher, it’s just horrible,” Ballas said. “My heart goes out to her and her family, my prayers and thoughts.”
Haslet-Davis had previously told the Track she would be honored to be on DWTS, “if they would want me.”
“It would be great,” she said. “They’re really great.”
As for the ousted DWTS celebrity, it was, as expected, boxer Victor Ortiz. He, “Bachelor” Sean Lowe and comedian Andy Dickrounded out the bottom three. Raisman was declared safe at the top of the hour.
